A date well saved

Where can we start about this venue? They absolutely saved the day! When our original plans fell through they saved the day. From then on, the wedding became an absolute doddle and the process was all of a sudden so much more enjoyable. On the run up, the team were so helpful and accommodating. Daisy and Jay worked with us closely to make everything so special, and more importantly feel like us. We wanted a fun party atmosphere and they just got it. It was beautiful!

We got married at the end of August and Dr Bell's was the perfect venue, we couldn't have picked anywhere better; we are still getting compliments on the venue itself and food which was incredible. We want to say a huge thank you to Daisy who helped us plan the perfect day, we didn't want a traditional wedding and she helped us every step of the way.

A great venue, beautifully done. Would definitely recommend for a wedding.

Caring, Thoughtful and Amazing!

Quite simply, Dr Bells saved and made our day what it always should have been. We were always having our reception there and really looking forward to it, but when our ceremony venue cancelled on us last minute, they certainly pulled it out the bag. Quickly reassuring us they could do the whole thing, inviting us to wedding fairs to see what we could have and communicating so well with us. It had been quite a stressful period up till this point and they just made all go away.

Best day ever!

We had our wedding day at the Old Dr Bells Baths in May 2022. We had an amazing day! We liked how the venue is so flexible on theme, with a beautiful blank canvas room that can be decorated to your own tastes. The staff were helpful and so friendly. We were also pleased with the quality of the catering. We definitely recommend this venue!

The happiest day of our lives.

Our Wedding day at The Old Dr Bells Baths in July 2019, was without doubt, the happiest day of our lives. We truly appreciated the staff, their enthusiasm and intuition on the day added to the joy of the occasion as we were free to simply soak up the atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble and a lot of guests commented on how lovely they all were.

Now the wedding is over and I all the excitement is over I just wanted to email personally to say thank you for delivering the wedding for Eilidh and Coll (I’m the bride's mother). It felt to me that it went seamlessly, not sure if that would be how all the staff felt but they certainly made it look that way which is so important. If you could pass on my thanks to them all Thank you again for pulling together and making the place look just amazing. All the staff worked so hard.

Describe the best wedding that happened at The Old Dr Bells Baths?

That is a very hard question, as every couple we have had, have been great to work with and have brought their individual vision to our venue. One that we all remember fondly would be the wedding of Sarah and Kenny, who got married with us last October. They were a truly fab couple from start to finish; very down to earth and laid back. The couple threw in some surprises for their guests, including an improv group and late night pizza from Mato. The whole day was great fun, with such a feel-good vibe and all of their guests were lovely.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

My favourite personal touch was at the wedding of Les and Dani. Dani sadly lost her papa just before the wedding so they made sure too honour his memory. They had asked for a seat to be kept out for him and his favourite hat was placed on the seat for the day. Les and Dani also added a nod to their history and had a special post ceremony cocktail, the same that they had from the bar where they met.

This is a bit of a weird one but... our loos get all the action. We're not sure whether it's the amazing wallpaper or just the fact that the mirrors are huge, but they must be up there with Circus Lane as one of the most photographed places in Edinburgh.

We have so many delicious canapes here at Dr Bell's. Our chef is such an absolute sensation that we promise, by the end of your wedding you won't be able to pick a favourite canape either.

A bit of cheese! Midnight is the perfect time to crack out your absolute most 'guilty pleasure' song. Put a smile on the face of your other half with the silliest song that you both love... you know the one.

Edinburgh is full of historical buildings, ours is the only fully contemporary wedding interior. We still have plenty of original features but overall, our look is paired back and pliable. No funky curtains, no wacky carpets, no artex ceilings! We are blank-canvas waiting to be painted with your vibrant impressions.
