Aptly named because of its size (23 metres long, 7 metres wide, and boasting 45-foot high ceilings), The Great Barn is the heart of our wedding venue in Devon. As you make your way up the steps and walk through our vast elm doors, you’re guaranteed to be wowed. A beautiful, expansive and atmospheric space, you’ll discover character-rich stonework, exposed oak beams and an air of romance. Known as “the thatched cathedral”, it is quite simply breathtaking…
Facilities and Capacity
It has a ceremony capacity of up to 250 guests when standing, 168 sitting at round tables, and 198 at long tables. Also available on-site is luxurious accommodation for up to 30 guests. The property features various stylishly renovated stone cottages, ample grounds and gardens, a heated outdoor pool and a thatched gazebo popular for outdoor ceremonies.

- HHolly02/05/2025Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue...Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue...We were looking for a venue that had an intimate feel, but could cater for the large number of guests (170 for the day and 210 in the evening). John, Emma and the rest of the team paid as much attention to the detail as we did and the result was truly magical. Everyone was so complimentary of the venue and gardens, which couldn't have looked more beautiful in the sunshine. We also really appreciated that they only host one wedding per week. The moment we walked in , it was deal done. All I would say is that no photo can do the barn justice! The whole weekend from start to finish was impeccable. John, Emma, Suzie, Tom and the entire team were just phenomenal. They could not have been more helpful, professional and attentive. Every little detail is thought about and it took a lot of stress off us before and on the big day.Without question the Great Barn is the best and most beautiful wedding venue we have ever been to.
