Description

Congratulations on your engagement, and thank you for thinking of us! We’re a large venue, based on Wandsworth common with a marriage licence. We often host Weddings and Private events, so hosting is something we really excel at. We're a glorious pub venue based opposite Wandsworth Common. With two large private spaces to celebrate your wedding in, we're proud to be able to say we feel like a cosy countryside pub, but based in the heart of SW London. With two on site wedding co-ordinate's, we're here to answer any questions and guide you through this exciting time. We’ve got two spaces, one is called The Trinity, located on our first floor, it’s got its own private toilets and Bar. It can host up to 40 for private dining, and happily hosting 60 for a standing reception. The Belvedere is our largest private space, located on the ground floor; it can host up to 120 for a standing reception and 80 for a formal sit down meal. The Belvedere has its own bar, as well as its own toilets. With big bi-folding doors onto the garden, you can opt to have a portion of our garden for an additional minimum spend. We don’t have a hire fee, but we do ask your party as a whole to reach a set minimum spend depending on what room you want & what day of the week it is. As we get further along the booking journey, we’ll ask for an itinerary of your day, including food service times, as well as inviting you in to see the space and arrange a food and wine tasting! We look forward to hearing from you.

We would highly recommend
We had our wedding here and the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The food was delicious the service flexible and discrete. They let us decorate to our hearts content and the DJ they recommended was great! Everyone had a fab time switching between the beer garden and dining room with ease. We would highly recommend this as a wedding venue if you are after a relaxing and casual atmosphere. Thanks to all the staff who helped make our day great.

5*
Really enjoyed our visit and are planning our next team night gathering! Service was on point, small things like keeping our water jug topped up as we sat in the garden area was such a nice touch to see, especially as it was pretty hot yesterday. Enjoyed ordering through the app and service was quick. Thank you to the team at the County Arms :) we will return soon... this time with more of us!

FABULOUS
FABULOUS venue for a wedding reception. For our daughter’s wedding reception, the room was set up and decorated just as requested. Food was hot, fabulously presented, tasty and delivered to 60+ guests smoothly and efficiently. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. They were friendly; just top class. The inside area was spacious, with bi-fold doors which were opened for outside sitting/dancing which were closed when needed, for the speeches. Many thanks to the staff.

Highly recommended.
Standout venue. We booked a private room for a school event and the staff were accommodating and helpful from the start. They were responsive and efficient in all communications, made useful recommendations when asked, and extremely helpful and present during the event itself. Highly recommended.

This is a really nice pub, beer on cask, decent size beer garden, less busy than other neighbouring pubs. Has a lot of space inside and out. Friendly service. Sort of place you can go for a few drinks with friends, or take your parents. Nice friendly calm vibe. Will come again.

Thanks again! We loved every minute ❤️
On the day, we were made to feel well looked after and valued as customers. The atmosphere in the pub, staff and clientele alike is fantastic. All the food served was of a high quality and they followed our event timings to the letter, even letting us know if we were running behind and if they needed to delay any part of the meal. We were impressed and so thankful that we chose this venue for our reception. Thanks again! We loved every minute ❤️

It was so smooth we felt like at home!
A massive thank you to Rebecca, first of all. Always ready to answer any questions and very accommodating to make sure the room was exactly as I had in mind. On the day everything had an incredible Christmas chalet vibe. All the guests loved it. Food was incredible and really fulfilling. Thank you to all the staff that helped out on the night. It was so smooth we felt like at home!

Describe the best wedding that happened at The County Arms?

In April 2024, we had a beautiful Wedding for 90 day guests, and 120 evening guests. The couple had spent months hand making decorations, marbling candles and drying out Gypsophila. To see the vision come to life after a year of planning and excitement on all of our behalf was truly touching. We shed a little tear as we saw them waiting to be announced upon entering their reception. The Wedding was an absolute joy to organise and host. The food was impeccable, the team was incredible and the day was enjoyable for all at The County Arms.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Make sure the day reflects you! It is about you as a couple, and it should feel as such, from your dining menu to your tablescape.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

Oh, a seating plan on an old antique mirror always looks incredible within the settings of The County Arms. Celebrating other guests on your day is always a lovely touch, if it's someones birthday, placing some Hotel Chocolat at their place setting, or popping down little bottle of bubbly if there's an anniversary to be celebrated.

Describe The County Arms in 5 adjectives

Versatile, Welcoming, Grand, Disarming, Delicious

Where’s the best photo spot at The County Arms?

I'd have to say in front of our Library's very grand fireplace. Or, by our Wandsworth Wall. Then, there's always our glorious garden. We're very lucky to be situated right on Wandsworth Common, so plenty of photo opportunities!

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at The County Arms?

Yes! But I'm not at liability to discuss whom...

What’s your favourite canapé?

Smoked salmon blini, lemon mayonnaise OR Mini Yorkshire pudding, slow roast Aberdeen Angus, horseradish cream.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Our homemade sausage rolls are always well loved. I have to say our new sweet canapes are absolutely superb. - Lemon Curd Meringue Tartlet - Mini Fresh mix berries Tartlet with Vanilla Crusted - Mini chocolate brownie

What is The County Arms most unique feature?

The pub was built in 1852 and has aged beautifully. Keeping many of its grand historic features, with some modern twists, making it a space that ages life a fine wine. The pub is a very special space. Many Weddings choose not to decorate the space too much, thinking it speaks for itself so perfectly!

What part of your business are you most proud of?

Our team! We're so privileged to be asked to host celebrations all year round. I have every confidence in our incredible work force here at The County Arms. From our fresh food kitchen, with the most creative chefs around- to our Events team organising it all, to the front of house heroes who make it all happen on the day!
