We are based in Leicester and offer a choice of three function suites and our stunning bar, we can hold civil ceremonies and Wedding Celebrations from the most intimate to the grandest affair. Each of our function suites has a licence for civil ceremonies and partnerships to take place. Built in 1792 and boasting a Grade I listed status, The City Rooms is a venue steeped in Georgian history, which is apparent from your very first steps inside. High ceilings, vast windows and grand chandeliers provide the perfect backdrop for your special occasion, with a magnificent Ballroom spanning the entirety of the first floor.

Halloween Wedding

We got married at the city rooms just last week. It was such an amazing day. Everything went exactly how we'd planned. Emily and the entire staff were excellent. The cleaners were brilliant. The Operations manager was fantastic. The food was excellent and so many people said it was the best wedding they'd been to. Civil Wedding

We had our civil wedding at City Rooms and it was beautiful. The grand ball room is lovely and the guest really enjoyed the day. Georgia was amazing with everything on the day, making sure everything and everyone were where they needed to be. She has been so accommodating to help us have the perfect day. We love all of our weddings, the beautiful thing is when couples put their own personal touch on their wedding day - it might be personalised table numbers, the incorporation of a theme that is special to them, or including a family recipe in their wedding menu.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

After all the planning and hard work before the day, enjoy your special day! It goes by so quickly, be sure to enjoy every moment!

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

At a recent winter wedding the couple went for an enchanted winter wonderland theme and decorated the venue in branches and trees. The wedding began at 2pm and from 9am on the day we lit scented candles around the venue to create a really nice atmosphere for the guests. The couple had a little surprise for guests too – they had an owl fly the rings up the aisle!
