The Panelled Hall (Max. 90 people) with its two carved wooden pillars and stunning fireplace provides the perfect indoor space to say your vows.
If you prefer an outdoor ceremony, the 16th century Elizabethan Gatehouse, with its original wooden doors, is a lovely choice for a fine weather day or you can also say ‘I Do’ in front of the fountain on the Balustrade with an amazing view across the valley to Codden Hill.
If you wish to have a church wedding, St. Peter’s Church is situated only a 2 minute walk away at the bottom of the garden.
You and your guests can mingle outside on the balustrade or indoors in the Morning Room and Study lounges whilst enjoying welcome drinks.The Lantern Staircase, Courtyard and outdoor spaces along with the ancient woodlands offer numerous photo opportunities.
The new Clutterbuck bar serving Cocktails and Gin is a welcome addition to add some flare to your day.
The Victorian corridor leads to St Michael’s Lounge, dedicated to the memory of the school, for when you fancy a game of pool, chess or table football.
The licenced bar, once the Victorian kitchen with its flagstone floor, is a modern yet vintage style space complete with a carefully selected gin list, lager, ales, cider, spirits and soft drinks, everything you could need for a great celebration.
Finally,The Old Refectory (max. 108 people), has been transformed into an elegant function room to host your wedding breakfast. It has a stunning Parquet floor and reclaimed wood feature wall and, in the evening, sets the stage for a band or disco.

Where’s the best photo spot at Tawstock Court?
The beautiful views across the balustrade to Codden Hill and Bishops Tawton. The Elizabethan Gatehouse is also a stunning spot for photographs.
What is Tawstock Court most unique feature?
Our Elizabethan Gatehouse dates from 1574 and its stunning! A perfect spot for photos but also it is licensed so you can get married in here. We have a resident barn owl who lives in one of the towers too.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Turning this venue from a private school in bad need of repair to a wonderful place for weddings, retreats, courses and to bring up my young family.
