Surrounded by stunning Scottish scenery, Rottal Steading is a luxury wedding venue in the heart of Glen Clova. Our newly refurbished Steading is an exclusive location to host your big day, your way. Our Steading provides a blank canvas for you to create a unique day that reflects your style and personality. Whether you are thinking traditional touches or contemporary chic, we can help you bring your ideas to life. Every aspect of your wedding is open for discussion. We can accommodate up to 150 guests comfortably for the wedding ceremony and reception with up to 200 guests in the evening. Our basic hire fee includes 3 days hire of the Steading & Honeymoon Bothy; your wedding day, one day prior and the day after. You are welcome to use our furnishings and décor, including rustic tables and chairs and we will provide a fully stocked bar for your wedding day. Otherwise, the Steading is yours to furnish and decorate as you wish to create a truly personal wedding day. Set on an 8,000 acre estate, we have stunning Scottish countryside on our doorstep which can be incorporated into your day to provide a breathtaking background for an outdoor ceremony, drinks reception or some spectacular photos to treasure forever. We have accommodation on the estate; Rottal Farmhouse which sleeps 8, our cosy Rottal Bothy which sleeps 4 and Rottal Lodge which sleeps 16. We also have a directory of additional properties in and around Glen Clova and the surrounding area. We can also put you in touch with local transport companies to transport your guests from further afield. We are located 12 miles from the town of Kirriemuir and 30 miles from the city of Dundee.

Our hire fee is effectively for 3 days hire; your wedding day, the day prior and the day after. Included in this rate is the three-nights' accommodation in our honeymoon Bothy, ceremony room hire, the steading room hire, rustic tables and chairs, heating and lighting consisting of uplighters, chandeliers, fairy lights and pin spots for the dancefloor. A PA system and wireless microphone, event furniture such as half whisky barrels, tattie boxes, full length whisky barrels, high stools, decorative plants, dancefloor, coat rail, highchairs and a table football.
A fully functioning bar service for the duration of your wedding and a catering kitchen for your external caterers to set up and deliver canapes, wedding breakfast and evening buffet. Fully equipped toilets, storage and onsite coach and car parking are all included.

- TThe new Mr & Mrs!16/12/2025The best!The best!Getting married at Rottal Steading was the happiest day of our lives. We truly believe there are few places more beautiful and special than Glen Clova. The steading’s location is stunning and was an incredible backdrop for our outdoor reception and photographs. We were lucky enough to have bright blue skies and sunshine so the setting really could not have been more perfect. Driving down the glen to the steading is an experience in itself and one that our guests loved and spoke about a lot. The steading building is an amazing space and perfectly equipped, but it can also be a blank canvas for you to make the venue totally your own. Living and planning our wedding from the USA should have been a lot more stressful! However, Claire and Louise are so kind and patient and went above and beyond in helping us with everything. We really could not be more grateful. They helped us visualise our ideas until they all came true. As all our guests kept saying, our wedding will be a wedding to remember - I only wish we could do it all over again! Getting married at Rottal Steading was the happiest day of our lives.
