That’s because previous residents include King William III and Peter the Great, and Sir Mortimer Signer of the Singer sewing machine family—responsible for the grand modifications to the house and estate in the early 1900s.
These days the house, bedrooms, and every detail can be tailored entirely around you. And if you have always dreamed of an outdoor wedding, we have a licensed pergola, where family and friends can sit on the lawn and watch the ceremony with a backdrop of the Italian fountain and olive trees.
An elegant look throughout, Milton Hill has an extensive range of accommodation along with a gym, indoor heated pool, spa, sauna, five-a-side football pitch, and croquet lawn. We also offer a range of delectable dining options in our renowned restaurant and bar.

- TToni + Ben08/12/2025Small August wedding Small August weddingWe chose Milton hill for the library room, which can hold up to 30 people (we had 26) and opens up onto a patio area with lovely field views. The renovation unfortunately meant we ultimately couldn't be married in this room and had to move it next door, however it did make the library, lobby and adjacent bar areas look much nicer for the reception. We met with the wedding co-ordinator multiple times to discuss food (went for pizza and platters which was served in a buffet room just off the italian garden where we sat outside to eat, which looks a million times better after the renovation and everyone enjoyed it), drinks (buckets ready in the reception, glass of fizz for us just after the ceremony was welcome extra), garden games (free!), decorations for the ceremony, timings, music (plug in at the wall) etc. They were helpful in the planning phases but the support on the day was really good. It took all the pressure off of us as they managed timings, cake, drinks for speeches, food, our guests and checked in on us as well. Overall we are pleased with our choice of venue, we had plenty of time and space across the venue and they were flexible to us wishing to work outside of a standard package. We chose Milton hill for the library room, which can hold up to 30 people (we had 26) and opens up onto a patio area with lovely field views. We originally went to Milton Hills wedding fair Feb 24’ and I fell in love with the library room, so booked our wedding the following weekend! Milton Hill were great from the get go, so much information available and great communication to start with! We were offered as many in person meetings that we felt necessary and the opportunity for menu tasting which was a fun evening out! On the day of our wedding I felt that Milton Hill staff couldn’t do enough for us. There was always someone on hand and nearby checking everything was running smoothly, there were no hiccups at all and the whole day just ran so perfectly, I felt me and my husband were able to fully relax. The food was incredible from the wedding breakfast 3 course menu, to the evening buffet finger food! Charlotte Carter especially went above and beyond for us, she was so friendly and helped make sure my day was as good as can be. The only hiccup we had was a communication error about a month before our big day, which was due to a staff changeover. We understand things like this can’t be helped but we do feel like it could have been managed a lot smoother, especially when we were so close to our big day and already stressed. The beauty of the manor, the extensive grounds, and the spacious, elegant wedding breakfast and party rooms along with being able to hold the ceremony on-site all made our decision much easier. The interior of the venue is stunning and very elegant, and the catering options were also fantastic. Aiden was also incredible and helped ensure everything ran smoothly during the evening reception and wedding breakfast. The staff were all amazing and very accommodating to our more strange requests - we had arranged for an owl ringbearer and they were all extremely supportive of our wedding choices. Overall the best experience of our lives and we were so grateful that we were able to have our wedding at Milton Hill. Aiden did an amazing job with the weather deciding it didn't like us with less than 1/2 hour to go, And there was some confusion with some of our evening guests turning up in the daytime - Aiden sorted that out too. Also a big thankyou to your [night] staff who helped the father of the bride in getting dressed in the middle of the night!! He was somewhat disoriented due to jet lag. In fact all your staff were fantastic. Well, we finally did it. Thank you Ellie for organizing a fantastic day. Describe the best wedding that has happened at your venue?
No two weddings are the same, I feel like all the weddings held at Milton are equally the best to one another!
The most memorable wedding we have held at Milton Hill House has to be where one couple had a fairytale theme, they had over 20+ small/medium trees all around their ceremony room which then turned into their table decorations and the Mother of the Groom had made handmade horse and carriage boxes for their favors! The whole room looked absolutely stunning.
I look forward to seeing some more amazing weddings here at Milton Hill House to add to our memorable list.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Wedding planning can be very stressful and overwhelming. I always say, it is never too early to start your wedding planning, take your time and enjoy the process!
Make the planning process as fun and exciting as you can so you do not loose sight on the reason why you are getting married. Make sure you do not rush any steps to ensure you do not regret missing something important for your magical day and don't forget, your wedding day is all about you!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One of the sweetest things I have seen at a wedding is where the bride and groom used photos from their life starting as babies going all the way through to when they met and all the years they have been together. Seeing how they grew up and how happy they looked over the years, was just so lovely! They presented it as a gallery as guests walked through the building to their wedding breakfast room so everyone could see their life story together.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
I have two favorite photo spots at Milton, first one would be in our Italian Gardens, it has the most beautiful backdrop for photos and video's. Second spot is on our lawn/meadow areas near our bridge and trees, some of the photos couples have shared with me in these areas look absolutely stunning and shows how much of an amazing day they have had.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We have had Chloe Burrows from Love Island stay with us, Scott Thomas also from Love Island visit for a conference as well as a football legend Paul Gascoigne visit for a photoshoot!
No celebrity weddings as of yet!
What’s your favourite canapé?
This is a tricky one...I must say our fish and chip canape has to be my most favourite!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
My favourite midnight treat has to be Mackie's of Scotland, Madagascan Vanilla ice cream - Yum!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Milton most unique feature has to be the Italian Gardens.
Every ceremony held in our Italian Gardens is just magical, the unique features in the gardens with the water fountain and views are just beautiful.

Our history! Milton Hill House is known for its long list of historic events.
