Michelham Priory is steeped in history dating back to Medieval times but with a fresh, modern approach to weddings which allows our couples to create a bespoke wedding day, or even weekend.
Hidden amidst seven acres of beautiful grounds including a Physics Garden, Herb Garden, formal and informal lawns, fruit orchard plus wider grounds bursting with bio-diversity, Michelham Priory has a Medieval gatehouse for the most impressive of entrances, a historic house and jewel-in-the-crown, a stunning Elizabethan wedding barn with vaulted beamed ceiling and its own courtyard garden and private lawns. This is then the focal point for weddings although we encourage our couples and their guests to enjoy all the aspects of this unique wedding venue.
We want your wedding to be absolutely unique to you and so we allow a wide choice of caterers and suppliers so that you can work to your own brief and budget. We can host intimate weddings in the House, seating wedding breakfasts of up to 130 in the Elizabethan Barn but can also accommodate much larger numbers should you wish to have a marquee in our Grounds. This works very well for weddings, such as Asian weddings, which require lots of different spaces for different aspects of the day.
We allow our couples a three day hire too, so that you and your suppliers have plenty of time to set up. We can also accommodate sumptuous Autumn and Winter weddings.
For couples looking for extra support, the experienced and super-creative Blue Door Weddings team at Michelham Priory offer a range of planning and management services to help you fulfil your wedding dreams. We really can make anything happen so if you'd like to be Creative Directors of your wedding day but don't have the time to make it happen, just let us know.
