We only host 1 wedding per date so you can relax in the knowledge that you have the undivided attention of the super friendly team throughout your day. - JJade wilde14/01/2025An amazing 30th birthday! An amazing 30th birthday!I booked the mercure because 8 years ago I had my evening reception there so, I remembered what a brilliant night that was. I was turning 30 and wanted a big disney themed 30th birthday. I could decorate how I wanted, nothing was too much trouble, food was great, dj was fab! Everything ran so smoothly and the staff were lovely in making sure I was happy with everything and checking how I wanted things to go. Thank you for one amazing birthday! Yesterday was brilliant, Lucy and her team were brilliant onsite throughout the day, helping and supporting us. Nothing was too much trouble and the friendliness we experienced throughout our wedding weekend was impeccable. All the staff including the housekeeping staff were polite, happy and helpful. Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. From the minute we arrived we were greeted by the friendliest lady who took time to talk to us whilst checking us in. We found our room very easily and were very pleased upon entry it was clean and spacious. The actual wedding was amazing all the staff we encounter were extremely helpful and attentive nothing seemed to much trouble and everyone had a smile even at the end of the evening.We stayed at Mercure April 20th when we attended a family wedding. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
All Weddings here at Mercure Chester Abbots Well are wonderful! However, one of my favorites has to be an intimate wedding we held for 11 guests, the attention to detail was incredible and the couple really made the day their own.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't be afraid to ask. I fully understand that this is a huge decision and sometimes couples are not sure what options are available. If you don't know what you want, be honest. I am always happy to spend some time getting to know you before showing options that I think you may like. Still want something changing - not a problem its your day, my aim is to ensure it is perfect for you.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
The couple found funny photographs of all of the guests prior to the wedding, these were then placed at peoples place settings as an icebreaker for the table, each guest had a photograph of someone else who they may not have known well but was sat with them. It was hilarious.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our stunning gardens, I could spend all day every day looking at the view. It is beautiful all year round and makes a great backdrop for your photos.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
One couple did bring a life size cut out of Ed Sheeran - does that count?
What’s your favourite canapé?
Mini Chicken Kiev (slight cheat as it is a snack so a larger version of a canape but it is so delicious)
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Mini Cheese Burgers every time, yummy!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our Woodland Pods - perfect for pre wedding meals, hen parties, an intimate breakfast. Look great lit up in the evening for photographs in the gardens.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
The team. Our reviews speak for themselves and our team come up trumps every time. They are wonderful people to work with and put their all into every single event.
