Beautiful, spacious, rustic and the styling possibilities are endless
We had a fantastic experience booking, planning and eventually celebrating our wedding at Kinkell Byre. The staff were all amazing, with special thanks to Sophie, Stevie and Brian. The venue itself is beautiful, spacious, rustic and the styling possibilities are endless- ensuring that our wedding day was perfectly 'us'. Perfect location and beautiful views. We have also previously stayed in the cabins too which was the ideal cosy coastal getaway. We will come back for many years to come to what has become a very special place for us. Thank you again to the team <3

The Perfect Wedding Venue!
We fell in love with Kinkell Byre as soon as we walked into the venue. The byre itself is a beautiful rustic setting but the ability to create a variety of romantic, fun and unique spaces was exactly what we were looking for. One of the most memorable features are the lighting installations, especially the beautifully lit ceremony space - something that we simply could not have replicated in any other venue. The flexibility within the byre allowed us to configure the spaces exactly how we wanted and the whole team went above and beyond to make sure our day was designed exactly how we wanted it. The venue is situated with stunning views over the St Andrew's coastline to the front and with the garden to the rear provides a variety of spots for photos without venturing too far. Kinkell provided everything we could have wished for in a venue and in the team on hand to help every step of the way. They allowing us to completely personalise our day and all our guests absolutely loved it. We just want to go back and do it all again!

Wedding venue of our dreams!!
Kinkell Byre was the absolute venue of our dreams and exceeded expectations massively on our big day. Being able to put our own stamp on it and the amazing effort the team all put throughout in made the day and run-up unbelievably good! The day went in a flash but we managed to pack so much in and the Kinkell team all made it run so so seamlessly - an amazing job dealing with suppliers, timings etc. which allowed us to fully enjoy ourselves! We visited Kinkell in Oct 2020 - 2 weeks after our engagement and Sophie gave us the two tours over the weekend. She was so so friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a good initial feeling about the venue- we had it booked 2 days after! It was also the first and only venue we viewed in person! The Kinkell team were absolute superstars, both answering my many emails with LOTS of queries. Nothing seemed too much hassle and they always responded super quick! A massive help was also Claire on the day who was like my third bridesmaid! Sorting my veil, decorating the cake, feeding me Prosecco when I was freaking out before going down the aisle and making sure we were ready for key photos/timings like the sparkler shot! Tegan was fab as well who had the not so lovely job of tidying up post-party and gathering our items for an easy pop in the car on Sunday. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, we found nowhere else near comparable. Spoilt for choice with so many beautiful spots for photos too. We chose Kinkell as we knew if we weren’t blessed with Scottish sunshine we would still get fab photos - luck was on our side and we were able to get photos in the orchard, against the red barn doors, the sea backdrop and by the golf course. It was such an amazing day we’ll never forget. I would highly recommend Kinkell to all future brides and grooms looking for a stunning barn venue to put their own stamp on! Perfect day at our dream venue!
We had the best wedding day at Kinkell! The venue is stunning, with views over the sea and a cute orchard at the back. The flexibility with the space was great, we had a 9-hole mini golf course in one room which our guests loved. The eating and dancing area is beautiful, we could fit all our guests without the need for moving them for the dancing. The team at Kinkell are so helpful from the moment you first visit, they help the day itself run very smoothly. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful destination wedding!
We met in St Andrews but live in North America and wanted to return to Scotland to get married. A friend recommended the Kinkell Byre to us and we booked it sight unseen for our destination wedding. This turned out to be a wonderful decision. The venue was beautiful and spacious. The location on the coast is stunning and easy to reach from St Andrews. The staff were extremely helpful in the process (going above and beyond to meet with us online to go over small details, show us the venue, and put us at ease in connection with other suppliers like the caterers we booked), especially given that we arranged everything from abroad. They treated us very kindly during the rehearsal, on the big day, and the day after. Our guests were really impressed with the venue and everyone had a blast! We have no regrets with the Kinkell Byre, just excellent memories and great satisfaction with how our wedding was orchestrated at the Byre. We would love to come back and look forward to doing so!

One of a kind venue!
As soon as we walked into Kinkell Byre and stepped into the ceremony room, we knew this is where we wanted to get married. Even without it being dressed for a wedding, the whole place is just stunning. From the entrance, to each part of the venue and the incredible views. The staff were amazing, every single person we spoke to, dealt with and emailed was responsive, professional and could not have done any more to help. They worked so well with each of our individual suppliers and helped us all together create the most perfect wedding day. Our wedding day was (of course!) the most special day of our lives, and how the venue and all the team there contributed to it, made it even more special. It ran without a hitch and we could not thank them enough for helping and hosting our perfect day. We went back for our first anniversary and we even planted a tree with the help of the rewilding team - it was so so special! This venue is so unique, romantic and special, you will be hard to find anywhere that matches it.

Such a Perfect Day
My husband and I got married on 16th July 2022, in St.Andrews and had our wedding reception in the beautiful Kinkell Byre just a short distance up the road from our church. For those reading this that are keen golfers, you will perhaps recall this was the weekend Cameron Smith won the Open Championship on The Old Course on it’s 150th year. This was the same weekend we got married and in the same village heaving with tourists, photographers and celebrity golfers. I should at this point say that this was not originally the weekend The Open was due to be held however, the date was postponed twice from its original date in 2020 to July 2021 then 2022 due to Covid. That said, my husband wasn’t too disappointed as he is a keen golfer and had hoped to catch a glimpse of McIlroy or Speith! Despite the slight delay with one way diversions from church, the “Good Luck in your marriage” (rather than “congratulations”) from the American tourists and the change of professional photo venue, Kinkell was just as magical when we arrived as we had hoped and dreamed. The majestic barn with its big red doors was bathed in sunshine with the view across the North Sea like a picture postcard. Inside was magical with twinkling lights, flowers and foliage in sea blues, greens and whites. Chesterfield sofas were artistically arranged in the long barn in perfect harmony with the original stone walls. The centre pieces were handmade by Sarah at Ambience to read the names of Scottish championship golf courses combined with driftwood and a personalised favour of a golf ball. Each of the three large spaces in the Byre had its own style and with ample space there was no need for moving of dining tables before the ceilidh. Even the garden was used to set up crazy golf on the lawn. The staff were on hand to ensure smooth running and to assist with a quick change for me into my second wedding dress for our choreographed American smooth. Knowing they were there meant we could focus on enjoying every second of our day. Delicious Catering were brought in for our wedding breakfast but once the menu was decided, they liased with Kinkell staff re set up, drop off and fridge space. This for us ensured smooth running, full stomachs and happy guests… some more merry than others! The end of the evening was the perfect opportunity for our photographer Jonathan Addie to capture some intimate pictures as the sun set over the estuary. It really was the most perfect Day.

Kinkell Byre was our dream venue
As soon as we went for a viewing we knew instantly that this was the place where we wanted to get married. It was effortlessly rustic and chic and it was beautiful even as a blank canvas! For a larger wedding it’s perfect, and the distribution of rooms work very well. We had a circle ceremony in the ceremony room which was such a unique experience and the guests loved it. All communication with Sophie and Claire was super easy and they were extremely accommodating. Also being able to sleep on site in the cabins was such a plus the night of the wedding, it made everything so easy. Would definitely recommend this venue to everyone!

The most perfect day
I cannot say enough good things about Kinkell Byre as a wedding venue. We had only hit the drive way for our first viewing and we instantly felt like we could see ourselves using this venue. The flexibility and creativity the venue gives you is amazing, and they will help you every step of the way. They took so much stress off my shoulders. You can really make the venue your own and on the day it will feel so special and intimate. I wish I could do it all over again!!
