Be Lord and Lady for the day! Gildredge Manor offers exclusivity, privacy and full use of all the whole Manor House including all the beautifully decorated function rooms for the ceremony, reception and evening. As well as the main ceremony, dining and dancing rooms, we offer a bride’s dressing suite, free entertainment including pool, table football, the piano (& even ping pong!), a cosy and atmospheric lounge with leather Chesterfields, bar rooms with giant velvet chairs, plenty of cosy nooks and of course the private garden and terraces. All our rooms are fully furnished providing elegant, comfortable spaces for you and your guests to relax, feel at home and have fun! Our service is truly personal and caring from start to finish. We do everything we can so you can be fully at ease, knowing everything is being taken care of. You can come in the day before to bring any decorations, your table plan, etc. and we will set everything up and clear everything down for you (ready for next day collection). Our bar is stocked with a large variety of drinks and will be available from guest arrival to the end of the evening. We also offer flexible and great value for money drinks packages, which can be tailored to what like! We work with long-established and trusted partner caterers (incl a multiple award-winner) who can offer you bespoke packages. They will include all crockery, cutlery, linens, etc. and manage all aspects of the catering service, as well as serving drinks. We are completely flexible and can accommodate 50-95 guests in the day and up to 150 in total in the evening. We close at 11.45pm at the weekends and 11.15pm on a weekday. If you prefer you can have a registry office or church ceremony prior or have your ceremony here with either a registrar or celebrant. We were lucky enough to have our wedding reception at Gildredge Manor in August 2021. Emma and Mark (and their team) were brilliant, making sure the day ran smoothly and providing an impressive level of calmness, meaning we could concentrate on enjoying ourselves as much as possible. We received lots of feedback from guests that they loved the venue, whether it was the beautiful gardens, the character of the building or even the presence of a pool table! Highly recommended.We were lucky enough to have our wedding reception at Gildredge Manor in August 2021. We chose this venue for our wedding day in October 2021 and I could not have been happier! The house itself is beautiful; there are lots of different areas for guests to be entertained, to mingle and enjoy each other's company or to dance the night away. So much care and attention has gone in to the restoration of every room and the decor and furnishings are so perfect there is no need to further dress the venue or worry about small details. The staff went above and beyond to look after us and our guests all day, and I couldn't have felt more special. The management of every part of our day from the planning, to setting up, to looking after my bridal party whilst getting ready in the morning, pre and post ceremony support, the day's itinerary, the moving of guests from place to place, running the bar, gathering our various bits and pieces for collection the next day... was all superb. I cannot speak highly enough of Gildredge Manor and the engagement of Emma and Mark, leading up to and during our big day. We were helped to plan in small details which we never would have considered, such as being ushered away into a private room after the ceremony for some quiet time just the two of us to toast the commitment we had made, which were so important. I never felt stressed or overwhelmed with the organisation thanks to the kind support and attention of these total experts! Every one of our guests has said such wonderful, unprompted things about our wedding and our venue. The partnered caterers were also fantastic, so easy to contact, responsive to all and any questions and responsible for such amazing food which our guests again have remembered and commented on. I don't know how much more I can say but I would wholeheartedly recommend Gildredge Manor and all of the team to anyone planning a wedding or event. We knew we had to have this place the moment we stepped through the gate. It’s absolutely lovingly restored and surrounded by a gorgeous park. There is so much to love about this venue. Also, quite importantly, the staff and the owners have been so kind and helpful along the way. Not once have I been made to feel I’m wasting their time with silly questions, they make me feel like they’re as excited as I am! Which is so lovely. I’m actually driving over there today with my bridesmaid to simply look at it from the park! I love it that much haha!!We knew we had to have this place the moment we stepped through the gate. I just want to say a huge thank you to you all. I was a bridesmaid for my sister this weekend and you did such an amazing job of hosting this wedding that I wanted to thank you personally. The venue itself it so picturesque and has been renovated to bring out its full potential. The grounds are immaculate, the interior is stunning, and every member of staff made the whole day exceptional. Everything went smoothly and we were even gifted with a little ‘fairy godmother’ to make sure every need was met. I can’t thank you enough for the hospitality. It was by far, the best wedding I’ve ever been to and that’s a real testament to how you run the manor. Thank you for everything you did, from the bottom of my heart. It was outstanding. On the 04.06 my husband & I were able to get married at this stunning & beautiful manor. We knew that this was the place for us from our first appointment. The service we have received from Emma & Mark is second to none, they were flexible, understanding & reassuring during times of doubt and upset of COVID over the past 18 months. When it came to our day, the atmosphere set by Mark and Jackie was relaxed & they couldn’t do enough for you. They were great with the kids, made them feel like they were doing more towards the day. I don’t think my husband & I could sing the praises of Mark & Emma (including their staff) more. This venue has it all & would be the perfect place for an event or wedding!On the 04.06 my husband & I were able to get married at this stunning & beautiful manor. Just a quick review to say that Gildredge manor have bent over backwards to help my best friend who had to move her wedding due to CV19. They helped find her a new date and were really supportive. They deserve your local custom for that! The venue is absolutely stunning for the ceremony and reception. The rooms for the bridal party to get ready in were perfect and stylish and had more than enough room for myself and about 10 other people. We needed hardly any decorations as the manor speaks for itself. The venue manager and staff are incredible and helped throughout the day to make sure everything ran smoothly and prior to our day any questions we had were answered efficiently and with care and we were allowed to pop back to the venue to have more time to look around and plan our big day. The grounds are also beautiful and perfect for photos. Honestly could not have asked for a more special day. Highly recommended!The venue is absolutely stunning for the ceremony and reception. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

They're all lovely and different! The most unusual was probably the murder mystery wedding... roving actors and a crime to solve! A great way to entertain and join people. It was all themed with ghoulish, gothic props. There was also the couple who had an owl fly the rings down the aisle - that was pretty special - along with the birds of prey display during the drinks reception!

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

You can't keep everyone happy all the time. Take everyone's views and advice on board but sift out what's just not for you. Relax, make lists, use your gut feelings, don't spend money on unnecessary things and remember - it's YOUR day and you as a couple are the most important people to keep happy!!

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

Pet dogs coming along with rings or just for photos!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

So many! We are set in a beautiful park and in our garden and around the house there are dozens of wonderful backdrops and settings. The good news for the unpredictable British weather is that there are loads of wonderful places and lots of light inside for fabulous photos even if the weather doesn't behave.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

We have had several TV stars as wedding guests and were featured in a TV show "Get me to the church on time:" Many many years ago Queen Mary visited the Manor too.

What’s your favourite canapé?

The classic smoked salmon blini but perfectly made & accompanied by a cold glass of good champagne!

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Cheese & biscuits with onion marmalade relish!

What is your venue's most unique feature?

Many beautiful rooms - Library, Long Gallery, Garden room, Double Drawing Rooms, Ladies' Morning room, Games room, as well as lovely gardens set in a wonderful park. Very intimate, personal and private, whilst very easy to access from the seafront and town centre (station, etc.)

What part of your business are you most proud of?

This landmark house was restored from total dereliction in 2012. We keep our weddings exclusive and offer a very personal service.

The venue is totally unique in the area and we have now hosted over 200 wonderful weddings with fantastic feedback and reviews.
