Situated in the heart of the Ribble Valley, located only minutes away from the picturesque and historic town of Whalley, Lancashire, Foxfields Country Hotel is nestled within 9 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens.
Weddings at Foxfields are held throughout the year, In winter weddings at Foxfields are truly magical and in summer our grounds and gardens, the exquisite licensed gazebo and fantastic views, form a stunning backdrop to the celebrations.
This country hotel, has recently seen the opening of their exciting new restaurant, Artisan Ribble Valley, which aims to be one of Lancashire’s most attractive restaurants.
The choice of reception rooms offered range from an intimate wedding of 20 guests, up to the Pendle Suite which can accommodate up to 200. There are 44 bedrooms, including 24 spacious suites, which are available under a special rate to resident wedding guests, who also have full use of the pool, sauna and steam room.

- MMichelle and Steven08/01/2026Absolute dream wedding day! Absolute dream wedding day!What can I say about this venue.. We had our wedding here on the 31st December 2025, and I cannot say enough good things about Foxfield's the staff were incredible, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed the night before in the suite and had a delicious meal in the restaurant that we had originally booked for 4pm but asked to change to 6:30pm the hotel handled the change no issues, the meal for me the MOB and my 2 oldest bridesmaids was as expected, incredible. We were able to set up the wedding breakfast room ourselves and the Hotel manager David supplied us with some prosecco to aid the task. We were made to feel like the only guests in the building and we had total control over the décor we had and the image I had in mind for the tables and our guests. We then went up to the room which was more than enough space for the 4 of us for the night and had a wonderful relaxed night and the beds are so comfortable it was a wrench to leave the duvet cocoon. We had arranged for a make up and hair team to arrive at 7am with the addition of further younger bridesmaids arriving at the hotel at 9am. A breakfast grazing platter was included for us in the package and we were informed it would be delivered at 9am, we foolishly expected a meagre spread so ordered a McDonalds breakfast and wished we hadn't, upon the grazing boards arriving we were treated to a meat and cheese platter, Yogurt and muesli pots, fresh fruits and the most sensational mini eggs benedict platter with fresh hot poached eggs!! this was accompanied by fresh fruit juice and a bottle of prosecco on ice. The hair and make up team were shown up to the room and the day had begun... what a day we had the entire day nothing was too much trouble from the calm, caring manner of Warren and David to the wait staff who followed our specified menu instructions to the letter for our guests. The venue is a wonderful space we had a party of 80 for the day and everyone who attended complimented the staff and how lovely the venue was, the rooms were beautiful and spacious and we had brought little gift bags for our guests staying overnight for their rooms that contained some essentials they may need and some treats and the hotel made sure everyone received their bags in their rooms. The wedding breakfast was the menu of dreams, with it having just been Christmas we opted to move away from chicken and had a menu of either lamb shoulder or sirloin of beef for the mains with a vegetarian option of a lightly spiced cauliflower and spinach pie which were told was delicious. The food was served piping hot and the guests did not have to wait too long for their table to be covered, a comment from one guest was, ''the food was amazing, and you would not have known it was mass catered as it was so well presented and piping hot!'' We opted for wine pouring service instead of bottles on the table for our guests as this felt more inline with an elegant event and less of a Christmas party feel, this was something Warren, the event manager suggested and he was right, the guests felt they were completely looked after and that the wine was flowing. The starters and desserts were done to a high standard too and the whole wedding breakfast felt like a real event. We then moved out of the suite to the bar area and we had planned a game of musical bingo for our guests which Warren happily organised the music over the PA system and supplied us with a microphone. My new husband and some close friends oversaw the bingo and the prizes and the guests all thoroughly got involved and quite competitive too! We had opted for a cocktail hour to run at the same time to give our guests the option to go to their rooms and refresh or stay and enjoy some more drinks and a fun game, this went down an absolute storm and the guests are still commenting on how much fun this was. We moved from the cocktail hour to the evening reception and had The DFC experience from Preston cover the evening entertainment, they were fantastic at playing the music that had everyone on their feet all night long and we had opted for the BBQ for our evening guests food and this was again outstanding, Warren checked in with me throughout the day/night making sure I was hydrated and happy and requested that as it was starting to drizzle outside we have the BBQ served buffet style in doors, which was really helpful. We were really well fed with burgers, hot dogs, chicken wings and halloumi and vegetable skewers along with salads, coleslaws and sauces. We had also opted for 2 wedding cakes, a chocolate version and a 5 tier cheese one which was served at the evening reception with a bountiful selection of crackers and fruits. We ended the evening with a sparkler arch outside with all our guests then back indoors to more food, dancing and welcoming in 2026 with all our dear family and friends. We had the Honeymoon suite which was spacious and had lovely mood lighting and there was no pressure on us to clear out the original room we had all got ready in, we had full use of the keys to the rooms to get what we needed and yet know our belongings were secure until morning, we honestly felt we were truly looked after and have had nothing but positive feedback from our guests. We arranged with our guests to all meet for breakfast the next morning and this was a lovely end to our stay as we all tucked into the incredible selection on offer from cereals, yogurts and pastries to the build your own full English breakfast buffet that our son got up to have a 2nd helping! It was delicious and exactly what was needed after the night before revelry. Then we headed to ceremony area to take down all the décor to find the staff had done the majority of the work for us bagging up napkins and sashes etc and our family and friends loaded them into cars. I cannot recommend this venue highly enough you are made to feel like family and from contacting them about prices and all our little add on things we wanted to incorporate from our own personalised items, to bingo and extra cake nothing was a hassle. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat because of the attention we received from this venue, it was our dream day and the manager made sure we had an elegant wedding that came in on budget but felt like no cost was spared in the experience our guests and we received. The food and drinks and service 10/10 you will not be disappointed. What can I say about this venue.. Her attention to detail is second to none, and she certainly knows her stuff! The communication between myself Sarah and David was great. There wasn’t a question they couldn’t help me with. The day itself was nothing but short of perfect , we both had such an amazing day ! All our guests mentioned how delicious the food was, myself and Chris couldn’t believe how good it was as previous weddings we have been to the food is never great on a big scale, but Foxfields this was NOT the case! The lead up to and on the day went so smoothly which made my planning experience stress free. I honestly cannot thank every one enough, a special thank you to Sarah you were amazing ! Bright modern with beautiful grounds and lovely areas for the photos ! Warren the manger and who was our wedding coordinator is brilliant makes you feel at ease and is very helpful when organising the day no question was left unanswered. The food for the wedding breakfast was just delicious we struggled to narrow down our options after trying it all out prior to our day on an evening tasting date ! (Definitely do this and take those with honest opinions and good taste with you). The bridal suite the night of the wedding was just perfect with a lovely balcony to sit and reflect on the day with each other ! The only small niggle and feed back with would be that there was only one single still bottle of water provided after a very long day it would of been nice to have had a chilled complimentary bottle of fizz or just even more than one bottle of water to drink when the party was over ! But like I say that’s just a teeny tiny thing that was noticed and didn’t actually matter to us but going forward could be something so easily noted and changed for future guests as the venue itself is certainly worth it ! Sarah was helpful towards the last few months of the final planning and answered or helped with any last minute things or by getting in contact with suppliers for us. I think there could have been some improvements in communication as I was chasing up a number of things but they handled everything really well and we were able to have our dream wedding. What’s your favourite canapé?
You are in very safe hands when it comes to canapes and your Wedding breakfast, as these are prepared by the award winning team from Artisan Ribble Valley restaurant. We have an extensive canape menu for our couples to choose from, but also pride ourselves on being able to create bespoke menus specifically tailored to our Bride and Grooms requirements.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
One of our favourite midnight treats has to be our midnight grazing table. A magnificent array of cured meats, cheeses, olives, chutneys, freshly baked breads, fruits, crackers and pork pies; The perfect way to keep you and your guests partying into the early hours!

We couldn't be more proud of being a family run hotel set in the heart of the beautiful Ribble Valley countryside. We have stunning grounds for photographs, suited bedrooms to make your stay homely and comfortable and to top it off an award winning restaurant with food from all of our wonderful local suppliers.
