Charlton Hall is a private Grade II* listed, 18th century hall located within a private 150-acre country estate along the Northumberland coast and it could be exclusively yours for your special day! We aim to deliver a show-stopping venue that plays host to fine dining, private parties and licensed weddings. Charlton Hall is perfect for those looking to spend time and celebrate in a grand and lively stately home boasting designer interiors. Set over three floors, Charlton Hall is made up of The Library, Drawing Room, Dining Room, two bars and our speakeasy underground space, The Vaults. The Looking Glass offers uninterrupted views of the Hall’s country estate and is the perfect setting for your reception. The experienced event team is on hand to bring your dream day to life. An on-site wedding coordinator collaborates with couples to ascertain their vision and desired theme. They arrange everything from the ceremony to the after-party. The dedicated coordinator is happy to recommend trusted vendors for all your entertainment, beauty, wedding cake, photography, and floristry needs. There are six beautiful bedrooms to sleep 14 guests in the Hall, each suite lavishly decorated with signature interiors that blend contemporary and classic accents. As well as these stunning bedrooms the Charlton Hall estate also boasts a further 47 beautifully decorated bedrooms that can sleep up to sleep 70 guests and are just a short walk from where the wedding celebrations will take place. - SSteph & Ollie12/06/2024Everything massively exceeded our expectations!!Everything massively exceeded our expectations!!We absolutely loved Charlton Hall because it was completely different to any other venue, we loved the quirky yet tasteful interior & so much accommodation on site. We absolutely loved the first dance with the sun starting to set in the Looking Glass. Roma was absolutely brilliant start to finish. We have to give a MASSIVE shout out to the bar staff, talk about attention to detail! We just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone, everything massively exceeded our expectations!! The most beautiful, unique and breathtaking venue I’d ever seen. I loved every minute of our wedding day. The meal and evening reception were my favourite parts. Jess Rix was excellent from the moment she got in contact with us. Big thanks to Tony as well for being amazing the whole evening. A brilliant MOC and he just made everything run so smoothly. The fact we had the whole hall was amazing. The whole day was amazing and the staff who looked after us were unbelievable, I've never experienced service like it. The food was incredible too, something which I often find is hard to get right at weddings. Charlotte was amazing, I was SO unorganised and she was just so easy and helpful! We loved the quirkiness of Charlton Hall, a lot of the guests said it was the most beautiful venue they had been to. The fact we had the whole hall was amazing. The whole day was amazing and the staff who looked after us were unbelievable, I've never experienced service like it. The food was incredible too, something which I often find is hard to get right at weddings. Charlotte was amazing, I was SO unorganised and she was just so easy and helpful!

All of our guests were gobsmacked, it was perfect. It was such a fun experience and of course with the lovely help of Roma. The breakfast at the tempus was amazing! Roma and Hiedi were amazing, all staff couldn't have been more helpful! Thanks again to your incredible team & venue it was a dreeaaaam. We are planning to come back for our anniversary already xxx We hardly looked at many venues because as soon as I stepped foot on the main house I just need to get married there. We loved how smoothly the day went from start to finish. We also really loved how moments were incorporated into the day where we could be alone. It was really lovely having some time to take it all in. Roma was a MASSIVE help throughout the entire planning process & wedding day, nothing was ever too much for her. Everything from the unreal venue, the communication months before, to the menu tasting was great. Jess was absolutely amazing, answering every little query I had before. She made us feel so at ease on the day with everything in hand, thank you to Katherine as well. We had so many compliments from the guests about the querky venue/accommodation, the delicious food and how smoothly everything ran. Matt was a huge part of this making sure everything was spot on, he felt like a friend we had known for years! 100% would recommend Charlton hall! We will be back to visit!The best day of our lives! All our weddings are amazing! Each are individual and personal to the couple and that makes us love each and everyone of them! We have lots of four legged friends onsite including horses, lamas & dogs!

Focus on your priorities and stay true to yourselves, and do what makes you happy!

Do you cater for vegan and gluten free?
We have vegan and vegetarian menu as part of our wedding breakfast menu. Our chefs can also cater for all kinds of allergies and make adaptions where required. Please speak directly with the wedding team for more information.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
We have views for miles so all our outdoor space can be used to capture the most beautiful outdoor images, we also have two lakes that make for a stunning backdrop, as well as the house itself! We have lots of fun indoor spaces too, so you'll never be short for photo ops!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Every guest is special to us but we have had a few celebrity guests at Charlton Hall! We do like to ensure their privacy so their names will remain unknown!
What’s your favourite canapé?
Pulled beef brisket Yorkshire pudding, crispy onions always go down a treat with the guests!
Do I get assigned a wedding coordinator?
You will be assigned one of our amazing wedding coordinators approximately four to six months before your wedding. They will invite you for a planning meeting and be your main point of contact.
What time does the bar close?
Your bar will close at 12am. The Vaults, our afterparty area for residents, then opens 12am until 1.30am. You can choose to extend your bar to 1am and The Vaults until 2.30am for £250.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We are so proud of every aspect of Charlton Hall but we do love how we have mixed the old traditional elements of the house with some quirky new ones to suit the modern day couple!
