Happy couple married in September
September 2024
Beautiful quirky venue, fantastic staff
We got married at Branxholm Park in September 2024. The venue is beautiful; a quirky, well-curated collection of indoor and outdoor spaces, ensuring nobody could ever get bored. The animals are a gorgeous inclusion - the goats and horses are so friendly, and there's a wonderfully affectionate 3-legged cat called Cookie who was the real star of our day! We booked the venue unseen - just based on the website and video tours - as we live in South Wales so couldn't nip up to an open day. This definitely contributed to my anxiety leading up to the day, but David & Debbie assured us that lots of people book without visiting, and the house and grounds really did exceed expectations. We did gasp as we drove up the road and saw it for the first time. We were lucky to have gorgeous sunny weather and the most amazing group of guests and vendors, so despite anxieties and small oversights, it really was a perfect wedding. The staff at the house were fantastic, making us feel so incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. A special mention to Becky and Tracey, who were just fabulous friendly faces and above-and-beyond helpful. I would have to say, though, that the wedding would have been much easier if we'd been able to speak to Becky (the on-the-day coordinator) in advance. It would also have been nice to receive some sort of welcome pack or guide to wedding planning. All the planning is done through emails with Debbie (the owner) who was a little difficult to talk to - slow or non-existent replies, confusing typos, lack of detail, and would not provide things like a seating plan despite being asked repeatedly. Maybe she's just very relaxed because they have a template for wedding days, but as an anxious couple we could have done with better communication and some more support with finalising details of our day. Several things that Debbie agreed/assured us would happen were not communicated to Becky and the house staff - they immediately sorted things out after our arrival and a quick chat, but it was unfair that they weren't warned about updates! It's a shame that the organisation prior to the wedding was frustrating, as Branxholm Park truly has the potential to be the greatest 5-star wedding venue. After our arrival, everything felt very fun and relaxed, and the 2-night package allowed us to settle in and explore without feeling rushed about. We made use of the hot tub and karaoke room the first night, slept well in the huge comfortable beds, and had a relaxed morning getting ready in the house without having to stress about travelling to a separate ceremony venue. The whole house-party vibe was perfect for a relaxed holiday experience without feeling stuffy or formal. Some areas could have done with a better clean and a bit of love, and one of the showers upstairs didn't seem to work, but this didn't spoil it for us. The meal the night before the wedding was lovely; hearty burgers with chips and an incredible range of cakes. The vegan cakes were among the best we've ever tasted - the blueberry/banana and the jaffa cake were standouts! Our wedding cake was a vegan lemon and blueberry one, which tasted absolutely amazing but was a little disappointing visually - it didn't resemble the reference images we had sent, and had been covered in artificial flowers, which was honestly a little tacky.* The promised "cake sword" also did not appear - we were just handed a kitchen knife for our cake cutting photos - and we weren't warned that there was cardboard inside each tier (not between; inside) of the cake, which made it difficult to cut. Breakfast and brunch were excellent, no shortage of bacon/sausage/egg/vegan rolls, jam-filled croissants, and other lovely snacks. The canapes were also lovely - a great selection including some fab Asian-fusion style bites which is apparently the chef's speciality - I wish we'd known this in advance, as it might have influenced our dinner choices. The meal on the wedding day was a little disappointing, especially the risotto, but we did take a chance by going off-menu, which was very kind of the team to accommodate. A guest particularly remarked on the high quality of the gluten-free bread rolls, and all allergies/dietary requirements were catered for. Guests were promised gluten-free gnocchi but were given pasta instead, which was still very tasty but just a bit of a shame. *On that note - be aware that all of the florals provided as part of the venue package are artificial and re-used repeatedly. This was not an issue for us, and better than importing real flowers and the associated waste, but just worth mentioning as this isn't explicitly stated by the venue. Our guests stayed in the flats in Hawick that are also owned by David - these had a couple of issues with cleanliness/storage space and confusing plumbing but on the whole were lovely and comfortable. One major flaw was that there is only one set of keys per flat - this is fine for the one-bed, but made it frustrating for the people in the five-bed as they were all arriving at different times. The only other real snag was accessibility - we had a guest who uses a wheelchair, and were told that the chapel was accessible but it is actually up a steep gravel slope (not clear on the video tour) and does not have space for a wheelchair, meaning he had to sit outside for the ceremony. The only downstairs loo is also not big enough for disabled access, and the house and glasshouse both have a step at the entrance. We understand that it's an old house and as such wouldn't have been built with accessibility in mind, but just be aware! Overall, if you love animals and are looking for a whimsical wedding getaway with endless entertainment and photo opportunities, Branxholm Park is the place for you! The package deal they offer is ideally suited to laid-back, go-with-the-flow couples who don't need fine control of every aspect of their day and are relaxed about the planning process and timeline.

Wedding of dreams!
We had the most magical wedding at Branxholm. The team at the venue made sure everything ran smoothly and went above and beyond on every aspect of the day. Arthur the puppy especially loved his special treatment. Our guests had a great day and said it was the best wedding they had ever attended. It is a truly unique venue and would highly recommend it to everyone.

An Unforgettable Magical Experience
Our wedding at Branxholm Park in Hawick was nothing short of spectacular, thanks to the incredible team and the stunning venue itself. From the moment we arrived, we were treated to an experience that exceeded all our expectations, making our special day truly unforgettable. Deb and David, our wedding coordinators, were phenomenal. Their expertise, attention to detail, and genuine care for our wedding were evident from our first meeting. They were instrumental in ensuring everything ran smoothly, allowing us to fully enjoy our day without any worries. Deb's thoughtful gesture of getting us food to feed the goats for our pictures was a delightful and memorable highlight, adding a unique touch to our celebration. Jess, Tracy and the rest of the staff provided service that was nothing short of amazing. Jess, in particular, was always available to answer any questions and assist us throughout our three-day stay. Her warm and accommodating nature made us feel at ease, and she went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our event was perfect. The night before the wedding was incredibly relaxed, setting the tone for the rest of our stay. We all enjoyed exploring the beautiful grounds, taking a dip in the hot tub, using the karaoke room, and playing volleyball and football tennis. The relaxed atmosphere allowed us to unwind and enjoy quality time with our loved ones, making the lead-up to our big day even more special. All our guests were captivated by the beauty of Branxholm Park. The venue's charm and elegance created the perfect backdrop for our wedding, and many guests commented on how stunning it was. The picturesque surroundings, coupled with the well-maintained and beautifully decorated spaces, made for an enchanting setting that will forever be etched in our memories. The canapés served at our wedding were a standout feature, with numerous guests raving about their quality and taste. Each bite was a culinary delight, reflecting the high standards of Branxholm Park's catering. The attention to detail in the presentation and the exquisite flavours truly impressed everyone, adding to the overall excellence of our wedding experience. I know that the Bestman tried his best to eat as many unlimited canapés as he could and at one point have 5 finished risotto spoons in his hand. One of the most memorable aspects of our wedding was the opportunity to interact with the goats during our photo session, thanks to Deb who brought out goat food to attract them over. This unique and personal touch made our day even more special and provided us with cherished memories and wonderful photos. Branxholm Park is an exceptional wedding venue that combines breathtaking beauty with outstanding service. All of the staff played crucial roles in making our wedding day perfect, and we are incredibly grateful for their dedication and hard work. We highly recommend Branxholm Park to anyone seeking a magical and unforgettable wedding experience. The intimate venue was beautiful, had a very relaxed vibe, and served great food and extremely tasty cakes! Thank you to all at Branxholm Park for making our dream wedding a reality.

Stunning venue for a memorable day
When selecting a wedding venue, after doing our research we decided to visit Branxholm Park as it ticked all our boxes - it catered for a more intimate size of wedding, it was exclusive use, and it had on site accommodation. We thought it looked beautiful on the website - as Michael put "a bit like where the elves in Lord of the Rings" would dine". When we visited, we knew very quickly that this was our perfect place, so much so that we never viewed any other venues! We could instantly envision ourselves an our guests celebrating here on our wedding weekend, staying in the beautiful rooms and chilling in the sauna. Michael's only question was - will there be dessert? However after sampling some of the delicious cakes that Deb made, we were more than satisfied that this was a yes. When we arrived at the venue on the eve of our wedding, David was there to put our wedding nerves at ease. We were free to explore the venue, and to share all the rooms, features and animals with our families and friends. Our niece and nephew loved the mini cinema on the top floor, and were endlessly amused for the whole weekend. The Bring Your Own Booze option worked very well, with the groom party enjoying a few drinks then night before (until 3am!). On the wedding day itself, myself and the bridal party opted for the oriental room to get ready in, though there were plenty of other options. Tracy looked after us, bringing coffees, breakfast, lunch and some fizz while we were getting ready. The venue has a beautiful mini chapel which we got married in. As it was a gorgeous sunny day, our guests were able to make full use of the lovely grounds to enjoy a drink before and after the ceremony. Our photographers were delighted with so many options for stunning backdrops. The wedding meal was fantastic. We enjoyed the (competitive) champagne fountain, and the dining room itself was beautiful. We added our own finishing touches to each table - favours and "wedding trump" cards - however they were already beautiful with nothing more needed. One thing I would say is that you and your guests will never go hungry. The catering team did an amazing job on the meal itself, and kept us fed throughout the night with rolls, chips (according to several of our guests - the best chips they had ever eaten) and cake. They also catered to various allergies, intolerances and tastes. The disco room worked very well. Our music connected easily to the speaker system, and we danced the night away. Our guests enjoyed playing barperson, and the drinks were flowing. What I enjoyed most about the after party is that there was something for everyone - it was lovely to see our dad's playing a game of table tennis, and our friends singing karaoke with silly hats on. This is the perfect set up for extraverts and introverts alike! Overall, I would recommend Branxholm Park if you are seeking a more intimate wedding with your closest family and friends. They managed to capture a house party vibe while adding a taste of luxury and a touch of magic. We could not have asked for a better day!

Peacefully situated just outside Hawick and with easy access to the A7, it provided perfect surroundings for our wedding. In addition the the building, the rooms inside, the stunning countryside views, the spa facilities, the wee chapel, the freedom of access, and the supporting staff provided a first class service throughout and made our day and the entire weekend totally unforgettable.

Feel like you are part of the family
I was just married here in June and I cannot say enough good things about this venue or the people who truly make it shine. Over your stay here no matter how short you will immediately feel like you are a part of the family. David and Deb are so wonderfully kind, incredibly helpful, personable, and outstanding at what they do. We planned this wedding from across the pond and I didn't have to worry once about food (which was one of the best meals I had while abroad)...

As a wedding photographer, I had the pleasure of shooting at Branxholm Park and it was an amazing experience. The venue is a photographer's dream with its picturesque landscapes, beautiful gardens and quirky architecture. One of the standout features of the venue is the beautiful light throughout the gardens, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that is perfect for capturing candid moments. I’m sure that any couple choosing the venue for their wedding will be in safe hands.

Fabulous location, team looked after us
My daughter's wedding was at the wonderful Branxholm Park House. Its a fabulous location and I would recommend it to anyone. Great views, amazing photo back drops , lovely house with such a relaxed and comfortable vibe. Best of all, the team who looked after us were second to none. I didn't get names of everyone as I was too busy enjoying myself, however, I have to mention Becky who was outstanding in everything she did. She made everything run like clockwork and was always there.
