We had such a wonderful day, our wedding planner Rachel was absolutely wonderful, everything we needed she was quick to help with. Our day went seamlessly, we didn't have to worry about anything as every detail was made perfect by our planner and the venue.

We had the best day ever in the George Ridley room at the Black Horse Beamish. Rachel was amazing nothing was too much trouble for her. We got our wedding on a winter deal and couldn’t fault anything, it was an amazing day from start to finish.

Where do I start...this will be a glowing review. I will try to break it down to some of the headlines as I know there's a lot to think about when you are making such an important decision. The venue: This is a superb location in a beautiful setting. The restaurant and bar in the original part of the site are rustic and olde worlde but with a modern twist. The George Ridley room and bar area upstairs is absolutely perfect for a smaller wedding as ours was (32 guests). Exposed original stone walls, wooden beams, original fireplaces - think cosy and authentic. We were really lucky to have excellent weather for November so some guests used the rooftop terrace as well which is a lovely space. I could imagine in the summer that would make such a brilliant option for a drinks reception. The grounds are fabulous. Lots of options for photographs that aren't necessarily the standard posed ones and plenty of freedom if you have any younger ones who need to let off some steam. The marquee is a huge space that retains an elegant feel. Everything you and your guests need is self-contained within there, so bar area, food service and toilets. The views from the marquee are breathtaking and having two sides which are glass panels looking onto the valley makes it very special. The bedrooms are gorgeous and any guests staying over will thoroughly enjoy the experience of staying in one of the fabulous rooms/cottages which feel incredibly luxurious. The food: We opted for 2 choices of each course which we asked guests to pre-order. The kitchen cater for big numbers with as much attention to detail as an intimate dinner. We had also been wedding guests here earlier this year for a very large daytime and on both occasions (both had completely different menu choices), the food was delicious, piping hot and every order was exactly as requested.
