Arundel Town Hall
A Grade II listed luxury wedding venue, nestled within the South Downs and the medieval town of Arundel, West Sussex.
Arundel is a beautiful medieval market town known for its magical castle, which stands majestically on its hill top. The Town Hall itself was built in 1836 by the 12th Duke of Norfolk and designed by Robert Abraham. Originally the site was south of Market Square, at the end of Market Street, now Maltravers Street, and close to where the old court house stood.
The building has an attractive flint and sandstone façade with arches and flanking towers in Norman style. The Atherley Chamber is a large upstairs room that was used as a ballroom, for concerts and other similar events. The basement had three cells, which from 1844 were used by the county police force, also housing the town fire engines.
The Holmes Chamber was added in 1957 to commemorate the Holmes family who served as Mayors and Town Clerks for 200 years. This is where the current Arundel Town Council meet.
