My most memorable wedding was when a bride, on the morning of her wedding, advised me she no longer wanted to marry her fiancé.

What about your business are you most proud of?
I am most proud to have won the award for Wedding Hairstylist of the Year, three times competing against the finest in the industry. Hearing my name called out among the ten finalists, some of them established salons, was one of the proudest moments of my life.

Book your suppliers very early to avoid disappointment.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
When the groom stood up before the meal, and told everyone, that whoever’s birthday was next on their table, got to take home the centrepiece. It immediately broke the ice and everyone got introduced to each other and some pretended it was their birthday that day. I was a plus one, so it put me at ease from the start.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
A bride secures my services with a booking form, arranges a trial. At the trial we ensure we find the perfect look for the bride. On the wedding day, I turn up and make everyone beautiful. All timed so the bride never feels flustered.

What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Grow your hair, keep it in good condition and look after your skin from the moment you get engaged.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
By showing the bride I have confidence in my work on the day and I have control of the timings so she won't be late. Her family and friends also will help to keep her calm, just by being around her.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Your hair and makeup should still be looking perfect, but do touch your lipstick up every now and then.
