The room was always clean, the buffet and snack areas were great, and there was a lot of wildlife to see. The a la carte restaurants were not amazing but not bad. The table service in the buffet was pretty hit or miss but you are getting your own food so you just may have to wait a long time for drinks. Most of the staff was VERY friendly and helpful. The beach is absolutely pristine and the pool is fantastic.We had an amazing time at Catalonia! Like most other reviewers have wrote, it's a smaller, more intimate resort than many others. The staff provided service that I would rate higher than 5/5. The rooms were spacious and clean. We had a bit of a walk from our room to the pool, but the walkway was covered with "jungle" so it was pretty enjoyable. There was a nice mix of all ages and something there for everyone. We chose this hotel because it was not too big and it did not disapoint! An incredible hotel with fantastic service. The staff make you feel most welcome from the moment we arrived. Ruben and Victor were very friendly and efficient, taking our luggage to our room and showing us where to get everything we needed. During our stay all the staff were most friendly and helpful. A big shout out to the other bellboys, Rodrigo, Jose and Mario. They were fantastic A gem of a place in the riviera maya. We chose this hotel because it was not too big and it did not disapoint! From the moment we walked in to check in, to the moment we checked out, the staff was fantastic.
