Originally a Dominican monastery built in the 17th C., Monastero Santa Rosa sits perched majestically along the heart of the Amalfi Coast within the fishing village of Conca dei Marini, conveniently located between Amalfi and Positano. Striking the perfect balance of seclusion without solitude, no other place along the coast quite captures the area’s rich history while also offering quintessential luxury Italian hospitality.
RESTAURANT
At Michelin-starred Il Refettorio, Chef Alfonso Crescenzo masterfully marries tradition and technique, using his passion for the area’s bounty and wide knowledge of the Campanian kitchen to deliver an experience unlike any other on the coast. Chef Crescenzo’s passion for the kitchen began at a very young age, cooking with his grandmother for the entire family in the local village of Sarno, where his family still resides and farms their own Terre Lavorate produce, following the challenging, but worthwhile, practices of pristine biological farming. His pursuit of knowledge subsequently took him all over the world, but it is in his native environment that he finds himself again, using his vast experience and repertoire of culinary skills to thrive while helming the kitchen of Il Refettorio and Monastero Santa Rosa.
