Happy couple married in March

recommend UMI as a wedding reception location

We had our wedding reception at UMI in October 2019, and we were absolutely thrilled with that decision. UMI exceeded our expectations in many ways and made our wedding weekend a magical experience! The hotel itself is beautiful, modern, and well-appointed. The beds were extremely comfortable and offered an excellent night's sleep. The hotel location is extraordinary, less than an hour driving from many famous attractions on Iceland's south coast. We hosted two dinners in the dining room...

the hotel property is fabulous

The property sits between the black sand beach and the E-15 glacier so we had incredible views out of every window. It has been designed to bring nature indoors so you feel like you are in the midst of everything, even while cozy and warm inside the hotel. It is far from city lights and we experienced an amazing Northern Lights display on two of the four nights we were there. What a unique and fabulous hotel!

What a unique and fabulous hotel! Amazingly well run, delicious food, comfortable and stylish rooms, and great party hosts for our friends' wedding. I would love to stay again on my next visit to Iceland.

Happy couple married in March

I absolutely fell in love with it

I had my wedding here Oct. 13th of this year. To be honest, I planned my entire wedding around this hotel. I absolutely fell in love with it when I saw it for the first time, and then happened to fall in love with Kvernufoss down the road. They were so amazing to us. My family and I can get rowdy and loud, and it wasn’t a problem at all. The staff was so incredibly nice and friendly, and the rooms were so cute. It was better than I could have imagined. My husband and I will be back, I’m certain.
