Grand Canal Hotel is located in a lovely picturesque area on the south side of Dublin city, a short walk or train ride from the City Centre. The hotel is within walking distance to Dublin Registry Office, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Aviva Stadium, 3 Arena, and Grafton Street. Temple Bar is a 25-minute walk or a 10-minute taxi ride away.

Grand Canal Hotel is very well located with links to many forms of public transport. The Grand Canal Dock Dart Station is a 2-minute walk from the hotel. There are multiple bus routes nearby along with Aircoach (providing quick and direct access to and from Dublin Airport).
A Leap Visitor Card can be used to pay for travel in Dublin and its surrounding areas on the Dublin Bus, Luas, DART & Commuter Rail services. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
One of the most memorable weddings we've hosted at our hotel, was a stylish and joy-filled evening reception following the couple’s ceremony in the local registry office. From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere was relaxed and full of excitement.
The couple welcomed around 50 guests into our private event space, which had been transformed with elegant décor, ambient lighting, and thoughtful personal touches. The day began with a drinks reception and light refreshments giving everyone time to mingle and unwind.
The reception dinner was a highlight a delicious four-course meal served in a cozy, beautifully decorated setting where guests could really connect and celebrate together.
In the evening, the space transformed for dancing, with a DJ and a relaxed party vibe that kept the energy going late into the night. What stood out most was how personal and joyful the whole day felt stylish yet simple, perfectly suited to the couple and the character of our hotel.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One couple created handwritten notes for each guest, placed at their table setting. Each message was unique — a memory, a thank-you, or a shared joke — and it brought so much warmth and emotion to the room.
