The day I went to the Domaine des Bidaudières for the first time, I knew that this was where I wanted to get married. It represents the quintessence of Touraine charm, with its white stones, its superb troglodyte room, its double exterior staircase… A huge cedar stands in the garden of the estate, which extends over several levels and a swimming pool surrounded by parasols and deckchairs attracts the eye.
The particularity of the place and what, in my opinion, makes all its charm, is the sobriety and elegance of the decoration. The large glass roof with infinite ceiling and the orangery are sublime rooms that are sufficient in themselves. The color palette is very well chosen. No plastic, nothing spoils the landscape. Mirrors, candlesticks, green plants, a few tastefully chosen frames complete the picture.
On the big day, our guests were blown away by the beauty of the place. What a shower of compliments upon discovering each level, each room, the swimming pool, the immense cedar!
A large parking lot located below allows guests to park discreetly. We had very hot temperatures and organized the ceremony without problem under the cedar, which provides shade!
One of the points that made us hesitate before choosing this area was the layout of the dining rooms: with 150 guests, we had to distribute the tables in the two rooms. We were afraid that some guests would feel isolated or “far from us”, of not being able to organize activities or surprises requiring people to get up, of having to spend our meal standing up going from table to table to compensate for this separation… Well, rest assured: it was a non-problem. The rooms are so beautiful that the guests are absolutely delighted no matter where they sit. Our wedding table was located in front of the large door and we had a “view” of the cellar. The latter was also cooler than the glass roof, so each room had its advantages. Our guests got up two or three times for a photo session, the cutting of the cake or a dance and it didn't bother anyone, on the contrary. The furniture (tables and chairs) is perfect.
The rooms reserved for our close friends and family were very popular and their view of the park is magnificent. The breakfasts were plentiful and provided, served in a charming room. We really feel like we're living a waking dream for a whole weekend and my husband and I have tears in our eyes when we think back to these unique moments.
The owner, Mrs. Suzanne, was attentive, welcoming, accommodating, smiling and firm at the same time - which allows her to preserve the charm of the place and to set limits that we think are essential. Always pleasant calls, and a remote organization from Berlin that went wonderfully. She knows her field like the back of her hand and gives excellent advice. I recommend that you trust her, especially when choosing service providers. Those she recommended to us and whom we chose (for example, the caterer Fredeville and the florist/wedding planner WillYouMarineMe) will be great assets and know the field well.
In summary: a magical place, an unforgettable wedding that went perfectly from A to Z, from the day before to the brunch the next day by the pool.
A big thank you. We will come back to experience another enchanted interlude in a few years.
