Description

Château Bas d'Aumelas, built in the 14th century, is a former château that survived the Wars of Religion. Situated just 20 minutes from Montpellier, it offers easy access and exceptional tranquillity. Nestling in the heart of a listed natural park and isolated from any neighbours, this timeless venue promises an intimate and peaceful atmosphere, ideal for celebrating your wedding.

Three large areas are available:

Outside: a formal garden for cocktails and a suspended terrace with a view of the Aumelas plateau
Inside: two function rooms, including a large 170 m² room with modern facilities (video projector, air conditioning, furniture).
Accommodation: sleeps 50 on site and up to 300 nearby, with shuttle service.

The estate extends over 20 hectares of organic vines, whose wines (red, white and rosé) are compulsory for all events. A wine tasting session is offered during visits to discover the different vintages.

Château Bas works with qualified service providers, but leaves you free to make your own choices. A full list of contacts and accommodation is given to you on your first visit.

A magnificent reception venue where we celebrated our wedding with our 140 guests. Everyone was charmed by the grounds, the quality of the rooms, the splendid view from the balcony, and the nomadic village set up next to the parking lot to safely accommodate our guests. The room accommodated 16 round tables, and we transformed the balcony into a dance floor. The French garden enhanced our couple's photo shoot. My husband and I got married at Château Bas d'Aumelas last weekend. We had a wonderful wedding; the venue is simply incredible. We took our wedding photos in the gardens. The guests loved the location. We enjoyed being able to stay overnight. The wine is very good, according to the wine lovers we know. Some guests will probably return to buy the same wine we had at our wedding.My husband and I got married at Château Bas d'Aumelas last weekend. We were lucky enough to celebrate our wedding at Château Bas d'Aumelas in June 2024, and what a magical place! We immediately fell in love with it when we visited, surrounded by vines, the magnificent stone room, and especially the incredible view from the terrace... The layout of the different spaces allowed us to fully enjoy the atmosphere of the venue (garden/room/terrace). The romantic and charming setting made this moment even more special for us. Everyone was captivated! Marine and Daisy were very responsive and friendly; we highly recommend them. What's more, the wine is excellent. We celebrated our wedding at Château Bas d'Aumelas on April 12, 2025, and the setting was simply magnificent. Nestled in the heart of the garrigue, it's a unique place, full of charm and character, perfect for a romantic, natural wedding. Our entire day went very well, and our guests were generally delighted. However, a few areas could be improved. In the evening, the rain made it a bit difficult for guests to return to their vehicles: the parking lot entrances are poorly marked and poorly lit, which made finding the cars difficult and unpleasant. It would be really helpful to better signage the paths and improve the lighting, especially for the routes to the bride and groom's and parents' rooms. Walking in the mud was far from comfortable in a wedding dress—a few stepping stones or a more suitable surface would be welcome for these areas. The rooms are beautiful, but the housekeeping could be more attentive. I had also booked a teepee for a unique experience; unfortunately, I don't recommend it. The price is high for a service far below that of standard rooms. The prefabricated toilets were unusable (garbage cans blocking access), the shower didn't work, and there was no lighting, which made the experience complicated, even unpleasant, outside of summer. The brunch the next day was a real success: plentiful, tasty, and much appreciated by all our guests. The tour of the winery to conclude the weekend was also a wonderful moment of discovery.
