What a beautiful place to experience San Gerardo de Dota. The grounds are beautifully designed and the staff go above and beyond. Truly a memorable visit. And we saw the Quetzal! Lovely lodge in a beautiful setting. The road to the logde is steep and narrow but the drive is worth it. We returned to our cabin after dinner and found hot water bottles heading our bed. Unique place to relax, a nature paradise Unique place to relax, a nature paradise
The Trogon Lodge is a unique place to relax and discover - the whole area is as lovingly as masterfully landscaped. It has in fact a remote location but if you are looking for a "nature paradise" this is an excellent choice to discover a wide range of plants and animals of this region. We had a lodge here on the way from the caribbean to the Pacific coast and really regretted not to stay any longer... Thanks to the experienced and charming guide we had - Grevin.The Trogon Lodge is a unique place to relax and discover - the whole area is as lovingly as masterfully landscaped. We stayed here to walk the Cerro de la Muerte hike (which the hotel arranges and is excellent!). This hotel is like a piece of paradise. The setting is stunning. The little cabins are beautiful. The river is stunning - it's actually ridiculous how stunning everything is as you look around this hotel. The two trails are really nice as well, some steep bits so you need solid shoes and if you're enjoying the scenery maybe it will take you 90 minutes total.
