After 3 long years of searching for the perfect space to call home and use as a venue, we stumbled across the property that is now 100 Acre Wood. It was exactly what we had hoped for. Acres of wild, not one but two barns for future dreams, two additional outbuildings, a home to grow a family, and endless possibilities. Upon first stepping onto the land I told Kevin we could stop looking at other properties, I just knew we were home. We walked among the wild fields, peaked into the barns and roamed the property imagining what could be. It had been empty for a while, but the energy of the whole space was filled with light and love, and we had truly never felt anything pulling at us like that before. It was home.
Every moment of every day between balancing other full time jobs, we laboured, we learned, we stumbled, but ultimately we ended up with 100 Acre Wood, and I am so proud of us. Quite literally our blood sweat and tears for a few long years, along with help from so many near and dear to us.
We are keepers of 105 Acres of land. 20 acres are farmed with winter wheat by a local farmer, and the rest of the land is a designated protected wetland, and we are so proud to protect our sweet animal neighbours who were here long before us. We have dozens of acres of marsh, the perfect home for deer, foxes, coyotes, rabbits, snakes, birds, beavers, fish, and our friendly pollinators.
In and around the venue we hope to instill feelings of peace and calm upon our guests. We are lucky enough to have century old trees, wild flower patches, fruit trees, kitchen gardens, pollinator gardens, fields of long grasses, and the best views. The feeling here is pretty euphoric, you’ll have to visit and see for yourself.
We are located just outside of Picton, so although it can feel like we’re out in the middle of nowhere, it’s about 4 minutes to accommodations, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and more.
