YOUR PRIVATE PENINSULA
The Peninsula occupies some 250 acres on Esperance Point and is for those who enjoy privacy and seclusion in a magical setting.
The property commands 360 degree views encompassing sweeping water vistas across the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, to the Huon River and Bruny Island to the East, and across the beautiful Port Esperance Bay to the snow capped mountains of the Hartz Range and the South West Wilderness Reserve.
The Peninsula features over 8 kilometers of walking tracks taking you through a variety of different experiences on this very special property. Our private walking track network visits a range of habitats from dry sclerophyll forest, through buttongrass heathland and tea tree wetland to rocky shore platforms.
THE ARC
The ethos of The Peninsula is to provide a sanctuary for animals and birds. Of the 250 acres comprising the peninsula known as Esperance Point, some 235 acres is pristine bush. In keeping with this ethos, we have developed the ARC (Animal Rehabilitation Centre) to provide for native animals that are not able, either temporarily or permanently, to survive independently in the bush.
The ARC covers approximately 625 square metres and offers a secure sanctuary with regular monitoring and careful feeding in preparation for ultimate release and independence where possible.
Peninsula guests are invited to quietly observe these special inhabitants. Please respect their habitat and only feed the animals as per noted instructions.
