Tranquility, Serenity, Beauty
The quaint heritage garden village of Mount Wilson was settled by the well-heeled society in Sydney as their summer retreat in the 1870's.
Dennarque Estate is situated on the highest point in the Village. The original sandstone house was built in 1879 by former Aide-de-Camp to the Governor, Commissioner for Crown Lands and Clerk of the Executive Council, Edward Merewether, who lived there with his wife Augusta and 10 children.
The original gardens were designed by Charles Moore, Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney.
Rarely open to the public, the extensive manicured cool climate gardens are ideal for the perfect retreat, small conferences, or a small wedding for up to 50 guests.
Today, Dennarque Estate is available to those who wish to experience nature at its best as in in-house guest.
